The Greek phrase Molon labe, Come and get them, is a classical expression of
defiance spoken by King Leonidas in response to Persian King Xerxes's demand
that the Spartans surrender their weapons at the Battle of Thermopylae. Molon
labe is now the official slogan of gun owners.

At Thermopylae, one million Persians lost twenty thousand men, yet they failed
to disarm three hundred Spartans. Fifty million lawful Americans would resist
even harder. That we promise. Come and get them! Molon Labe! 

We need a president who will enforce current laws, not create new ones that only serve to burden lawful gun owners. We need a president who will stand up for the rights of hunters, sportsmen and those who seek to protect their homes and their families. Romney favors a background check for prospective gun purchases to make sure that the crazies don't buy guns. 

Defeating Obama would help ensure the U.S. Supreme Court would continue to protect gun rights under the Constitution's Second Amendment. The Libertarian Party (LP) asserts that gun ownership, by itself, harms no other
person and cannot morally justify criminal penalties. Libertarians agree with
the majority of Americans who believe they have the right to decide how best to
protect themselves, their families and their property. 

Millions of Americans
have guns in their homes and sleep more comfortably because of it. Studies show
that where gun ownership is illegal, residential burglaries are higher. A man
with a gun in his home is no threat to you if you aren't breaking into it.

In his first term, we've seen Obama try to browbeat the Supreme Court. In a second term, he would remake it. Our freedoms would be in the hands of an Obama court, not just for four years, but for the next 40. And we must not let that happen. 

Only an armed citizenry can be present in sufficient numbers to prevent or deter
violent crime before it starts, or to reduce its spread. Interviews with
convicted felons indicate that fear of the armed citizen significantly deters
crime. A criminal is more likely to be driven off from a particular crime by an
armed victim than to be convicted and imprisoned for it. Thus, widespread gun
ownership will make neighborhoods safer.

The gun issue is trickier for Obama than Romney, because Obama is more likely to have a hard time appealing to working-class voters who are more likely to own guns. Obama has to tiptoe that very fine line between expressing outrage and not derailing the themes he wants to get across. 

Libertarians note that rather than banning guns, the politicians and the police
should encourage gun ownership, as well as education and training programs. A
responsible, well-armed and trained citizenry is the best protection against
domestic crime and the threat of foreign invasion. America's founders knew that.
It is still true today.

Romney supported the so-called Brady Bill of 1993 that required licensed gun dealers to perform criminal background checks on buyers. He also backed a ban on certain assault weapons in a 1994 federal anti-crime bill. 

On a clear day, xasteria, lesmiserables and taxstrucks will take their guns and
