Trusting wisely may lead to freedom, peace, friendship and prosperity.
Within our 7 billion people's beautiful world, there are many static and dynamic problems that they need corresponding creative solutions to be applied in order for resolving them. Those solutions may come both, from creative people as well as from the collective intelligence of small communities with organic structure and dynamics.
In order for both, creative people to push forward their creativity as well as for small communities to having organic structure and dynamics, there is one strong prerequisite: the trust.
- The creativity of an faultily distrusted creative person is nothing but a wasted one.
- A small community which lacks trusting relationships is nothing else but a deterministic system. And within a deterministic system, freedom, peace, friendship and prosperity have no meaning.
Onora O'Neill: What we don't understand about trust
Trust would be a derivative of personal trustworthiness. But trustworthiness is nothing else but a personal judgment about others' behaviors. For this reason, our perception about others' trustworthiness is prone for doing the ultimate attribution error, due to actor – observer asymmetry. And even worst, as most of the information that we access is mediated, filtered, distorted or manipulated by various gatekeepers (mass medium, search engines, social foundations, power structures, governments, various stakeholders, covert meta-systems, etc), the validity of the evidence of trustworthiness of others' may be compromised.
Perceived trustworthiness is a quasi commercial commodity. The possession of this commodity may ensure, monetary income, power, fame, glory, lust, etc. For this reason various techniques have been developed for manipulating, both discrete as well as collective perception of trustworthiness.
For maximizing the validity of our perception about others' trustworthiness we need the property of transparency within our social systems. And the property of transparency may be manifested mainly within small communities.
By choosing to live within small communities we may avoid, our perception of trustworthiness to become subjected to asymmetries of social (economic, etc.) power.
In small communities the unavoidable accountability and the unavoidable transparency and the unavoidable lack of local gatekeepers may sculpt trustworthy personalities who justly trust each other while leaving space and time for their creativity to blossom. And in the end, the discrete and the collective creativity may produce those solutions by which community's problems would be resolved. Thus, having resolved its problems, small communities would be in the position to enjoy, freedom, peace, friendship and prosperity.
John Hunter: Teaching with the World Peace Game
Trading perceptions of trustworthiness may result inability to resolve, discrete and/or collective problems. And, prolonged inability to resolve problems may result the collapse of variety in many aspects. In other words, trading perceptions of trustworthiness may be a recipe for discrete and/or collective failure.
Furthermore, discrediting, by slandering or framing, of a nation's most excellent people has been a frequently used means for performing political games or even colonial domination tactics.
In large communities, trading perceptions of trustworthiness is almost unavoidable. For this reason, in large communities, the freedom, the peace, the friendship and the prosperity may be unreachable goals.
